The determination to devote unrelenting commitment and deeply care for things, be they large or small. A family now in its fourth generation has devoted itself entirely to beauty, creating Deborah Milano, a brand of cosmetics that since the 1960s has taken pride in its Italian identity and adopted a refreshingly down-to-earth approach to make-up. The very name of Deborah’s birthplace, Milan, possesses the magical appeal of a place that the whole world associates with style, fashion and design. Milan’s mission, today, is to convey the distinctive values of our country throughout the world. The roots of “Deborah style” lie squarely in the Italian lifestyle and mindset, and are fuelled by a deep appreciation of beauty. Deborah is more, much more than a mere system. Deborah is a company comprised of people, a company that indeed prizes the uniqueness of its people. A company that rewards personality, determination and soul. A company that aims for success, Italian-style. Colour is what it’s all about for Deborah trendy shades inspired by the runways. Colours are as important for Deborah as they are in the rarefied world of haute-couture. And every Deborah product is designed to be loved and admired for its beauty and sensory appeal. Deborah has been focussing on these aspects for several years now and today the brand’s look has risen to a whole new level. In 2002, Deborah brought Mario Trimarchi into the picture and since then, has come to see that “objects” can be designed as miniature architectural masterpieces: “Out of Scale”. Here’s how Mario Trimarchi puts it: “As a designer, I am keen to communicate in the language of architecture and create objects that have to do with backlighting, conjuring up the soft light of dawn, vertical lines and skylines. Because at the end of the day, architecture and objects are one and the same, only on a different scale. There is one distinction that fascinates me, though, and it is that objects created for the cosmetics industry are handled by women.
